Emad Shargi is a keynote speaker and former American hostage sharing powerful insights on resilience, leadership under pressure, and global risk.
From American Hostage to Global Voice on Resilience and Leadership
In April 2018, Emad Shargi was taken from ordinary life and thrown into an ordeal that would last 1,975 nights. Wrongfully imprisoned and held hostage by the Islamic Republic of Iran, he survived solitary confinement, coercive interrogations, threats of execution, an attempted escape, re-arrest, and the deadly chaos of the Evin prison uprising.
What emerged from that experience was not only a remarkable personal story, but a practical leadership framework. Emad now speaks to corporations, investors, universities, policy forums, and leadership teams about resilience under pressure, ethical decision-making, disciplined optimism, and the human cost of geopolitical risk.
His keynote style combines emotional gravity, strategic clarity, and lived credibility, moving audiences beyond inspiration toward reflection, perspective, and action.
